Sacraments
Baptism
Baptism brings about a new birth into a family of faith, and a sharing in the life of God.
Confirmation
Confirmation 'confirms' what occurs in the initial Sacrament of Baptism. The child is asked to witness that they want to become members of the church community and live as Christians.
Reconciliation & First Holy Communion
Being forgiven and reconciling ourselves with God, we are able to receive the consecrated bread and wine at Holy Communion with a clean heart. At Communion we are receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ that has been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Reconciliation
The Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance, or Penance and Reconciliation) has three elements: Confession, Repentance and Reconciliation.
Marriage
What we commonly refer to as marriage - is a ritual union between a man and a woman who freely vow to love and uphold each other in a promise with God for the rest of their lives.
Anointing of the Sick
Formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness.
Holy Orders
A baptised man must be ordained as a deacon before being ordained a priest and ordained a priest before being ordained a bishop.
Our parish acknowledges the Turrbal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we worship, and their connections to the land, waterways and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
